Started as an Accountant with Desert Valey Medical Group Inc,CA. Promoted to Controller of the Medical Group in 1986. Eventually, became the CFO and COO of the Group. He got promoted as the CEO of the Group in 1996.
In 1994 the Medical Group was involved in the construction of Desert Valley Hospital, an acute care facility and Lex was both the CEO and CFO of the Hospital. Under Lex's leadership, the hospital was accredited with commendation by JCAHO in its first year of operations, such commendation usualy reserved only for hospitals with track records and years of service in acute care delivery system.
